EAN 2026 Summer Research Internship Cohort

Each summer, EAN is joined by two interns who each conduct an in-depth, independent research project on a topic related to climate and energy issues in Vermont. Our internship program is designed and led by EAN Senior Fellow Christine Donovan.

2026 EAN Summer Research Interns

Audrey Leida 

Audrey Leida graduated in May 2026 from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies. During her time with the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, she worked to connect constituents with lawmakers, helping translate complex policy into accessible advocacy around pollinator-friendly farming. She also gained legislative experience at the Vermont State House, where she supported Representative Burke’s efforts to advance equity in climate policy, energy systems, and environmental rights. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to public service and environmental protection. Audrey is excited to continue this work as a Research Intern with the Energy Action Network, contributing to efforts to achieve Vermont’s climate goals.

Riley McCallister

Riley is a rising senior at Dartmouth College, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Sciences modified with Environmental Studies as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering. From Northern California originally, she enjoys hiking in the beautiful areas around her college in both Vermont and New Hampshire. She has joined EAN as a 2026 summer intern and is researching Vermont’s Home Weatherization Assistance Trust Fund. She is excited to have the opportunity to contribute to EAN’s impactful work.
