Data Download | Insights from the latest Vermont Energy Dashboard update
In this month’s blog post, we explore several key trends and takeaways from the latest update to the Vermont Energy Dashboard, which tracks progress on several climate and clean energy technologies, including heat pumps, electric vehicles, and home weatherization.
As of the end of 2023, nearly 60,000 cold-climate heat pumps and nearly 20,000 heat pump water heaters had been installed in Vermont homes, almost 40,000 homes had been weatherized, and more than 12,000 electric vehicles were on the road. Vermont has made significant progress, but action on some measures is accelerating faster than others. And not all parts of the state are benefitting from these technologies equally.

Profile | Linda McGinnis’ Post-Election gathering remarks
EAN’s Board Chair Linda McGinnis gave the welcoming remarks at the December 3rd EAN Post-Election Gathering. In her remarks, she reminded us that “when a network works at its best, it brings the strength and knowledge and experience of each of us in our respective important work together… to achieve so much more than we can accomplish in our individual silos.” She also shared a recent quote from Rebecca Solnit, who said: “The fact that we cannot save everything does not mean we cannot save anything, and everything we can save is worth saving.” Linda followed that quote with an invitation to “take a walk in our beautiful state, or look around this room, or at the faces of those you love…. We have things to save.”
If you were unable to join us to hear Linda’s words in person, we hope you will take 10 minutes to watch the video of her opening remarks, which were both grounding and inspiring. You will find those in the first 10 minutes of this video.
You can see other videos of panels from our December 3 event on our website as well: 2024 EAN Post-Election Gathering.
