Greetings!
While there’s still plenty of Summer left to enjoy, we’re already looking ahead to the EAN Summit this Fall, which will be held on Thursday, September 26th at Champlain College in Burlington. You’ll receive a registration email for the Summit soon but, for now, please be sure to save the date.
In the meantime, over the next month, we are asking Network members to submit pitches to be shared with legislative and administration leaders and other Network members during the Summit.
Over the past year, EAN’s  Vermont Energy Future Initiative has worked to identify and fill gaps in research and to elevate strategic opportunities for breakthrough energy progress in Vermont. Building on the work of the Initiative, we are particularly interested to receive pitches focused on moving our transportation and thermal sectors off fossil fuels, especially with policy and regulatory tools, public engagement efforts, and/or workforce development strategies.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your pitches by August 30th – here’s the link if you want to get started now: https://eanvt.org/2019pitch/
Thanks,
Jared

EAN has modeled one path for how Vermont could achieve our Paris Climate Agreement commitment based on currently available energy technologies and proven best practices. Getting to the Paris commitment would require
all
of these efforts, plus 20% more from additional measures. For example, if Vermont put fewer than 90,000 EVs on the road, we would have to make up the difference in another area in order to meet the commitment.

even in Vermont, we can produce 100% of our energy from the roof
